Seroquel (quetiapine) is a prescription medication used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. It is prescribed for its active ingredient, quetiapine, which is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Seroquel helps to reduce the levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter, in the brain. When serotonin levels are low, the activity in the brain decreases, which causes a decrease in mood and anxiety. When serotonin levels are elevated, the activity in the brain increases, which increases the amount of serotonin in the brain. Seroquel is a popular alternative for treating depression, but it is also effective for the treatment of bipolar disorder.
Seroquel is used to treat major depressive disorder and panic disorder, both of which are conditions where you may experience depressive episodes. Seroquel may also be prescribed for anxiety disorders, and it may be prescribed to treat insomnia, which may be a cause of insomnia. Additionally, Seroquel is also used off-label to treat conditions such as insomnia and seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

I have been on this medication for a month and my psychiatrist tells me there is not much difference between it and Seroquel. I am not sure how much difference this means for me to gain and maintain an active life. I don't want to spend the last months alone worrying about my life.

It has been really helpful for me. I just have to ask again to get the meds I need. I will be having my day at the pharmacy. I have to take it at 4.30 pm. Not good. My doctor said I have no problem and he will make sure I do not take anything else for the medication.
I have been on it for the last 3 months and my doctor said I have no problem and I have to get it over with. I have been on it for the last month and I am so nervous about taking it, as I don't have much time left. I would like to try again. I have heard I can't take it at all. I know how to use it. I have read about it. The only thing that works is by having sex. I don't want to be in this situation for no reason. I am taking this medication and I will try to find a different solution.
I have been on it for the last 3 months and I was worried that it would make me lose interest. I am on it for the first 6 weeks. I am going to try again. I am so nervous, I can't sleep. I have been taking this for the past few weeks and my doctor has said that it does not help with my depression. I am afraid it will take some time to kick in. I want to find a solution. I am on it for the first 6 weeks and I am afraid that I will not be able to go again. I have heard I can't take it. I want to know what I am going to do.

Re: Seroquel XR 50 MG Oral Tablet
Last updated: 20th March 2025
Hi there, I'm a patient who's been taking it for years and recently had my second prescription and my doctor has now placed an order for a generic seroquel. My questions are, Is it safe to take the generic, it doesn't work for me or is it a bit risky? I'm not taking any antipsychotics, is it just a possibility?
If you're wondering why it doesn't work or what risks it could be, I can clarify my concern. It's a medication, like most other medications, that's prescribed to someone who's been taking it for years and has not yet finished it. The generic does work, however, for some people who are experiencing side effects of an antipsychotic medication. In my case, I'm now on Seroquel XR 50, so it's possible it might be a bit risky. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and/or has found something similar. And if so, how safe would it be to take it?
Thanks,
Pfizer
